Questions for a Cause: Rockinghorse Quiz Nights that Make a Difference

Not every fundraiser has to be black tie to make a difference. Some of the most joyful events are the simplest — where laughter echoes, friendly rivalry fills the room, and community spirit does the heavy lifting.

Since 2023, Priavo has proudly attended and sponsored several of Rockinghorse Children’s Charity’s quiz nights, including their much-loved Christmas Quiz and Bonfire Night Quiz events. On the surface, they’re light-hearted evenings filled with banter, trivia, and good-natured competition — but beneath it all lies something far more meaningful. Every question answered, every raffle prize won, and every donation made helps fund the essential equipment and support services that Rockinghorse provides for sick children across Sussex.

These quiz nights have become staples of the local fundraising calendar. Teams of friends, healthcare staff, parents, and local businesses come together, often crammed around tables decorated with fairy lights and quiz sheets, ready to pit their general knowledge against each other.

It’s a reminder that community giving can be joyful. Rockinghorse has a wonderful way of blending compassion with celebration — showing that doing good doesn’t always have to feel serious. Their events create connection: between people, between businesses and the cause, and between the children in hospital beds and the strangers quietly helping them from afar.

For us, these events represent something larger than a night out. They’re proof that small, consistent acts of generosity add up to something extraordinary. The money raised from these quizzes supports everything from play therapy and pain management equipment to neonatal incubators and specialist medical training.
