Turning Tides | Big Summer SleepOut 2021

While Priavo has a global presence, we also have strong ties to the local community where our operations team are based. We are a keen supporter of local charity Turning Tides community projects, as these have significant meaning for our team.

Turning Tides are calling on the community to give up their beds on the night of Saturday 14th August to show solidarity with the rising number of people who are experiencing homelessness in West Sussex

Homelessness can happen to anyone – especially within these more challenging times – and they need support to end it. The event requires volunteers to surrender their bed for just one night, choosing an alternative place to sleep – a sleeping bag, in a makeshift den or just out under the stars. Prizes for the best dressed den, quizzes, stories, games and Q&As will also be broadcast on the events live stream.

“The Big Summer SleepOut offers a brilliant family-friendly way to highlight homelessness and reflect on people who are less fortunate.” Ruth Poyner, Head of Fundraising & Communications at Turning Tides.

“Our team feel passionately about helping the homeless problem within our local community. We have worked with the Turning Tides community for three years now and truly understand the struggle of homelessness. I personally have experienced how quickly relationships and home life can break down for vulnerable people within our society, very quickly resulting in homelessness. Increasingly so, with the impact of the ongoing pandemic. This has left our team with a real desire to help further.” Celine Murphy, Managing Director at Priavo Security.
